Korean Braised Tofu (dubu jorim)

Ingredients

  • 1 package of firm or extra firm tofu

  • 1 Tbsp cooking oil

  • 1 green onion

  • Sauce
  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 Tbsp gochugaru

  • 1/4 cup orange juice (optional)

Directions

  • Slice tofu into thin squares (2" x 2" and
  • Heat cooking oil in large pan on medium high heat. Add salt to flavor oil.
  • Add tofu, making sure every piece is laying flat on the pan.
  • Use tongs or chopsticks to flip after 5 minutes or when the bottoms are golden brown.
  • Turn the heat to low. Add the rest of the sauce ingredients and cover with a lid for 10 minutes.
  • Plate and garnish with green onions.
