Miso Braised Asparagus

Ingredients

  • 1 lb asparagus

  • Flavors
  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp miso

  • 1/4 c vegetable broth

  • a pinch of salt

  • black pepper

Directions

  • Peel or remove ends of asparagus to get rid of fibrous skin.
  • Heat butter and salt on medium high heat in a skillet or shallow pot.
  • Add asparagus and toss occasionally until browned all over.
  • Mix miso into vegetable broth. Heating the broth (microwave or stove) will help miso melt into it more easily.
  • Once all sides of asparagus are browned, pour miso broth into skillet and close the lid.
  • Cook until most of the moisture has evaporated.
